~ Hand built custom furniture for those who strive to take the road less traveled ~

I grew up in a small Wisconsin town, the youngest of three children. In order to
stand out and get noticed, I had to express myself in creative ways - a tactic that
served me well. As one can imagine, there wasn’t a lot of artistic interest in a
farm town that actually had a “Drive your Combine into School” day. After high school,
I went to college but never really challenged or revisited my creative side that
gave me great joy. I earned my degree in Accounting, passed my CPA exams, worked
for three Fortune 500 companies, and traveled throughout the US, Europe, Australia
and Central America on business. Working full-time, I earned my MBA from Northwestern
and continued to climb through the ranks of corporate America. All financially rewarding,
but it wasn’t fulfilling for me.
Not until I met a very special woman (now my wife) did I find my true calling. She
asked a simple question - “You’re so passionate in talking about so many things in
your life, but you never want to talk about your work. Why?” To answer honestly,
it took a bit of soul searching. For me, I needed to once again tread a path of
my choosing and express my creativity rather than feel bound to a role that I never
truly embraced.
As a birthday gift, that special woman enrolled me in a woodworking class. The joy
I found in taking otherwise uninspiring wood and working it into a single piece of
furniture that could change the feel of an entire room was undeniable. After 35
years, I had found a vocation that at once allowed me to work with my hands, heart
and soul.
I hope you enjoy my work. Be assured that I will devote myself in the creation of
a work of beauty that will reflect your personality and warm your home.
